Getting into brushless 1/8 buggy action has never been easier. The fast, rugged and factory-built ARRMA® TYPHON™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR with 3S LiPo drive is ready to go right out of the box on any terrain. Precision aluminum, rugged steel and composite materials combine to create a low-maintenance, highly durable vehicle design whose high-downforce, low-center-of-gravity wing with wide arms and narrow wheels and tires enhance handling on race tracks, trails, muddy courses, skate parks and more. This version features new equipment that enhances the already impressive performance and durability of the original buggy.
The TYPHON™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR is DESIGNED FAST, DESIGNED TOUGH - built for exhilarating bashing speeds and extreme, off-road durability. New features that enhance its unstoppable performance include a stronger chassis and retained hinge pin plates, steering with more clearance for rocks, a molded slipper pad and sliding gears, and rubber-shielded bearings throughout.
It also now features a Spektrum™ SLT3™ transmitter and SLR300 receiver. The transmitter is ergonomically designed for long, fatigue-free bashing and features a foam wheel for precise fingertip control and an improved grip and trigger feel. New bashers can set the throttle limit to 50% or 75% until they are ready to use the full speed potential. The SLT3™ is compatible with Tactic® SLT™ receivers to power other RTR vehicles you may own and includes a third channel to control optional features such as lights and winches on models that have them.
ARRMA® now powers the TYPHON 4X4 3S BLX with a brushless system that includes the BLX100 ESC and Spektrum™ Firma™ 3200Kv brushless motor. The combination provides incredible torque, acceleration and speed. The gearbox and chassis are robustly designed to take full advantage of the power of the electronics - in the ARRMA tradition: DESIGNED FAST, DESIGNED TOUGH.
It features the ingenious modular design perfected by ARRMA® engineers for easy component access and maintenance. The power module with improved dirt management consists of the motor with ARRMA® heat sink and fan, as well as motor plate, slip clutch assembly and gearbox cover. The power module can be removed from the chassis as a complete unit by removing a single bolt. With the power module removed, the slipping clutch can be easily accessed and adjusted by loosening three screws securing the gear cover. The gear ratio can be fine-tuned as the power module now operates with a sliding motor engagement.
A two-piece molded part bolted to the speed buggy chassis serves as the electronics module and includes a waterproof receiver box, servo mount and controller tray. The SLR300 receiver is mounted inside the receiver box to protect it from dirt and moisture. The ultra-compact controller screws onto the top of the module for quick access to the on/off switch, while the servo mounts on the side. All three components can be removed together, quickly and easily.
The differential module houses each differential unit in an innovative yoke design. Only eight screws need to be removed to release the front and rear yokes. The power module can then be removed, allowing you to swing the transmission cases for access to the differential. The TYPHON™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR comes brushless with 37T 1.35mod differentials with silicone o-rings. The large gears can withstand tremendous torque, and the internal metal gears were chosen for reliability under extreme bashing.
The full-time 4WD transmission uses strong telescopic drive shafts front, rear and centerline that can't be lost in heavy bashing, unlike dogbones. Simple, reliable and responsive steering complements the ultra-reliable drive system and features a servo horn with built-in servo saver. The TYPHON™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR includes the Spektrum™ SPMS651 waterproof digital servo with metal gears for 15% more torque than the previous version's ADS-7M servo.
The self-venting, oil-filled shocks, now with silicone O-rings, use a proven, coil-over design for easy maintenance and amazing handling. Their innovative rod end has a molded-in spring pocket for added strength. High chassis sides and a tight-fitting buggy body limit the amount of dirt and debris that can enter the chassis pan. Front and rear bumpers provide protection from impacts.
Rugged, gunmetal-colored multi-spoke wheels with dBoots® 2-HO™ ventilated tires give the 1/8 TYPHON™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR Speed Buggy effective traction for bashing on virtually any terrain. With metallic bodywork and forged composite details, it also looks as good as it drives. A stylish high downforce wing keeps all four wheels on track as you explore the upper limits of its outrageous speed range.
