The Axial® SCX10 ™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler 4WD kit in 1/10th scale marks the next step in off-road performance. The SCX10 ™ III continues to include key components that have made SCX10 ™ vehicles so successful, but increases chassis realism with details such as a mock V8 engine for the front-mounted 540 engine. This is connected to a realistic transmission case and transfer case as in a 1: 1 vehicle.
The kit's versatile transmission can be built in a number of ways. If you're using a 3-channel remote control like the Spektrum ™ DX3 ™, you can set it up with a DIG function for the third channel that lets you lock the rear axle on the transmitter side to get a tighter turning radius with the front wheel drive. Another 3-channel option is to set up the vehicle with a 2-speed transmission to choose between high and low gearing. To access the 2-speed gearbox and DIG function at the same time, simply add another servo and use a remote control with at least four channels (e.g. the 5-channel Spectrum ™ DX5).
The SCX10 ™ III Jeep® JLU Wrangler kit uses portal axles to improve performance by increasing ground clearance and reducing torque twist, The standard battery compartment accepts standard LiPo or NiMH packs. There is also room on the side rails for drivers who prefer "shorty" packs. Inner fenders and underbody sides hide internal components that are normally visible from the side of the chassis.
To round out the chassis, the kit comes with a clear four-door Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited body that can be finished as desired. Scale details include a roll cage, vents, wipers, mirrors, door handles and more, as well as a detailed interior. New larger and wider officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on three-piece licensed KMC Machete beadlock wheels provide an even truer look and more grip on sand, rocks and all other off-road trails
