The 1/10th scale ARRMA® BIG ROCK™ CREW CAB 4X4 3S BLX monster truck offers an exciting combination of ARRMA® toughness, street truck style and speeds of over 80 mph. It's a big step toward brush-bashing. The BIG ROCK™ 4X4 BLX is based on the high-performance 4X4 BLX platform, whose precision aluminum, rugged steel and composite materials combine to create a low-maintenance, ultra-durable vehicle design that has now been further enhanced to increase the monster truck's impressive performance and durability.
The BIG ROCK™ 4X4 3S BLX is DESIGNED FAST, DESIGNED TOUGH - built for exhilarating bashing speeds and extreme, off-road durability. New features that enhance its unstoppable performance include a stronger chassis and retained pintle plates, steering with more clearance for rocks, a cast skid plate and sliding gears, longer control arms for a 1.10-inch increase in width, and rubber-shielded bearings throughout.
It is also now equipped with a Spektrum™ SLT3™ transmitter and SLR300 receiver. Ergonomically designed for long, fatigue-free bashing, the transmitter features a foam wheel for precise fingertip control and an improved handle and trigger feel. New bashers can set the throttle limit to 50% or 75% until they are ready to use the full speed potential. The SLT3™ is compatible with Tactic® SLT™ receivers to operate other RTR vehicles you may own, and includes a third channel to control optional features like lights and winches on models that have them.
ARRMA® now powers the BIG ROCK™ 4X4 3S BLX with a brushless system that includes the BLX100 ESC and Spektrum™ Firma™ 3200Kv brushless motor. The combination provides incredible torque, acceleration and speed. The transmission and chassis are robustly designed to take full advantage of the power of the electronics.
It features the sophisticated modular design perfected by ARRMA® engineers for easy component access and maintenance. The power module with improved dirt management consists of the motor with ARRMA® heat sink and fan as well as motor plate, slip clutch assembly and gearbox cover. The power module can be removed from the chassis as a complete unit by removing a single bolt. With the power module removed, the slipping clutch can be easily accessed and adjusted by loosening three screws that secure the gear cover. The transmission ratio can be finely adjusted because the power module now operates with a sliding motor engagement
A two-piece molded part bolted to the truck's chassis serves as the electronics module, which includes a waterproof receiver box, servo mount and ESC tray. The SLR300 receiver is mounted inside the receiver box to protect it from dirt and moisture. The ultra-compact controller screws onto the top of the module for quick access to the on/off switch, while the servo mounts on the side. All three components can be removed together, quickly and easily.
The differential module houses each differential unit in an innovative yoke design. Only eight screws need to be removed to release the front and rear yokes. The power module can then be removed, allowing you to swing the transmission cases for access to the differential. The BIG ROCK™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR comes brushless with 37T 1.35mod differentials with silicone o-rings. The large gears can withstand enormous torque, and the internal metal gears were chosen for reliability in extreme bashing
The full-time 4WD transmission uses strong telescopic driveshafts front, rear and centerline that can't be lost in heavy bashing, unlike dogbones. Simple, reliable and responsive steering complements the ultra-reliable drive system and features a servo horn with built-in servo saver. The BIG ROCK™ 4X4 3S BLX RTR is equipped with the Spektrum™ SPMS651 waterproof digital servo with metal gears, which offers 15% more torque than the previous version's ADS-7M servo.
The self-venting, oil-filled shocks, now with silicone O-rings, use a proven, coil-over design for easy maintenance and amazing handling. Their innovative rod end has a molded-in spring pocket for added robustness. Raised dirt deflectors and tight-fitting bodywork limit the amount of dirt and debris that can enter the chassis pan. Front and rear bumpers provide protection from impacts.
The BIG ROCK™ 4X4 3S BLX truck's long, scale crew cab body is accented by matte black bumpers and wheels at the front and rear and is the epitome of street style. With the included dBoots® RAGNAROK™ MT tires, it's ready to take on dirt roads, trails and even muddy tracks. An adjustable wheelie bar is standard so you can enjoy some stunt fun along the way.
