100 km/h+: Wide-MAXX®improved performance
The Traxxas Velineon brushless motor power makes the Wide-MAXX® a top-class RC monster truck. Massive 4S power delivers wheelies on demand - every time. Wide-Maxx feels like an unstoppable force of nature, as top speeds reach an impressive 100+ mph, depending on configuration and battery power. The advanced 32-bit, microprocessor-based electronic speed control (ESC) on the Traxxas Velineon VXL-4s brushless motor not only controls power, but also has built-in telemetry that delivers real-time speed, temperature, and voltage data to your smartphone when you upgrade to the optional 6511 TQi™ wireless module. Integrated cooling fans on the ESC and motor provide longer run times. The 540XL high-performance brushless motor features a beefy 5mm shaft, aluminum heat sink, and powerful fan. Of course, it's all fully protected and waterproofed with Traxxas innovative waterproofing. So the RC fun won't be stopped by rain or heat, nor by dust and mud. The Wide-Maxx chassis absorbs and dissipates impact energy throughout the structure. Giant GT-Maxx threaded aluminum shock absorbers with large diameter shafts provide optimal damping. Modular Chassis Design
The intelligent chassis design of the Traxxas Wide-Maxx combines the shock towers, front and rear modules, and main frame into a single rigid platform designed to absorb and dissipate impact energy throughout the structure. Critical components of the drivetrain, receiver and battery are protected to keep Wide-Maxx off the workbench and fun. A well-designed body and easily accessible components make maintenance easy and ensure repairs can be made in a snap. Built Wide-Maxx Tough
The legendary Traxxas X-Maxx monster truck was the inspiration for the ultra-rugged composite chassis design with its integrated shock mounts and rugged battery retention system. The energy-absorbing chassis and bumper mounts, along with the interlocking bulkheads, form the foundation for the heavy-duty suspension and drivetrain. The Wide-Maxx goal is very clear: Have fun anytime! It goes virtually anywhere and any way you want it to - hour after hour of exciting RC action. To make sure the fun doesn't end too soon, always remember spare batteries.
TRAXXAS STABILITY MANAGEMENT™ (TSM)
Traxxas Stability Management™ (TSM) works unobtrusively behind the scenes to help harness the Wide-Maxx's brutal 4S power for maximum acceleration and superior control. Go ahead, give it full throttle! TSM never limits power output, but works with barely noticeable steering inputs to ensure the Wide-Maxx always goes where you steer it, even when traction is lost due to spinning tires. The intensity of the TSM assistance can be conveniently adjusted on the handheld transmitter.
INTEGRATED WHEELIE BAR
A wheelie bar is mandatory equipment to prevent backflips under full acceleration. It also absorbs shock during less than perfect landings and can be conveniently used as a handle when taking your Wide-Maxx to its next RC adventure
